The annual Russian Christmas party rolled through our house yesterday. I think I have managed to cook up the best spread yet, with two kinds of pies, pelmeni, blintzes, salads and an enormous vat of borscht. There were kokoshniks aplenty, a babushka, and my friend A. showed up as Basmanov from the orgy scene, at which point I pretty much lost my damn mind. 

Russian Christmas party this Saturday, and I just finished a new kokoshnik. Not sure who’s going to get to wear it yet. Hell, maybe I’ll get drunk enough to pull a Basmanov and wear it myself.
